Empowering Women

Empowering Women

At Dorika Foundation, we are committed to empowering women—especially women-headed households and underprivileged women—by unlocking economic opportunities that uplift entire communities.

In Kawaza, Rumphi District, we’ve partnered with local women to sew school uniforms for Kawaza Primary School students. This initiative not only equips learners with essential clothing but also gives women a meaningful source of income and pride.

“For the first time, I feel seen and valued. Making uniforms for our own children gives me pride and hope. Dorika Foundation is not just helping us make a living—it’s helping us build a future.”

What’s Next?
We’re exploring more ways to support women in Kawaza through:

  • Tailoring cooperatives
  • Small-scale agro-processing
  • Village savings and loan groups (VSLAs)
  • Handcraft and beadwork production
  • Entrepreneurship and skills training

Dorika Foundation is proud to stand with the women of Kawaza as they build brighter futures for themselves and the next generation.
