Education Support
Dorika Foundation is spearheading a transformative initiative at Kawaza Primary School in Rumphi District, Malawi to address the pressing challenges affecting quality education. These include high dropout rates, lack of desks and learning materials, inadequate infrastructure, and limited access to secondary education for vulnerable learners.
Through this project, we aim to turn Kawaza primary School into a model primary school by:
- Supplying enough desks so no child has to sit on the floor.
- Establishing a well-stocked library to promote reading and literacy.
- Installing solar power to enable evening study sessions.
- Upgrading classrooms and sanitation facilities for a better learning environment.
- Equipping teachers and learners with essential teaching and learning materials.
- Sponsoring vulnerable students to support their transition to secondary education.
So far, Dorika Foundation is sponsoring five students that graduated from Kawaza Primary School with school fees for secondary education at Bolero and Rumphi secondary Schools and provide them with school supplies. The Foundation has further supported 25 students at Kawaza Primary School with school uniforms. This project marks a broader commitment to ensuring every child at Kawaza Primary has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
